Project Summary

Hinton Group is bringing forward exciting proposals for a modern business park, atland between Roman Way and Copcut Boulevard, part of the Copcut Rise residential development site. Following extensive consultation with the public, local stakeholders, and our advisers we have now secured consent from Wychavon District Council, and are onsite delivering Phase 1 which incorporates a Costa Coffee Drive Thru, together with a Sainsburys’ Local convenience store. As part of the plans, and for the first time within their convenience store portfolio,Sainsburys’ are delivering 4 twin Ultra Rapid EV chargers via their own EV company, Smart Charge.

The Site

The proposed Copcut Business Park site is located at land between Roman Way and Copcut Boulevard and is part of the wider Copcut Rise residential development which includes allocations for retail space and employment uses.

Given the allocation for the site was made some time ago, Hinton Group has taken expert advice from Worcestershire Property Consultants, GJS Dillon and Harris Lamb, in order to evolve a mix of uses that responds to market demand and expectation.

The Proposals

Hinton Group’s proposals for Copcut Business Park are the result of a long and detailed two-year process to evolve an exciting and deliverable mix of complementary retail and commercial uses, comprising:

  • A modern Sainsbury’s Local store providing a fantastic range of products so that local people have access to everyday essentials for cooking at home and for food on the go, without having to travel further afield.
  • A Costa Coffee Drive-Thru, providing coffee on the go as well as café seating for businesses and residents.
  • An electric vehicle charging station providing ultra-rapid charging points for eight electric vehicles, to be provided by Sainsburys.
  • 58 parking spaces serving the Sainsbury’s Local and Costa Coffee Drive-Thru, including eight ultra-rapid charging spaces.
  • Two industrial units (Units 1 & 2). Both units provide space for mid-size local businesses to expand within the local area, thereby freeing up smaller units     elsewhere in the market for smaller businesses to occupy.
  • Unit 2 to be occupied by a self-storage company offering small scale storage, office and meeting space solutions for private individuals and local SME businesses.
  • Creation of circa 175 FTE new jobs for local people in a wide range of retail and commercial roles.
  • A site access from Copcut Boulevard utilising the existing junction already provided, as well as new pedestrian and cycle access from within the Copcut Rise development.

Hinton Group are now on site delivering the retail element of the scheme.
